Hey Jack, I agree with James too (as I do about most things LOL), and with you. Coop grew up in strict Christian traditional churches; his mother (and millions of others) absolutely believed that God intervenes in our daily lives. If you didn’t get what you prayed for, then God had something better planned for you, or God knew you weren’t ready, or God moves in mysterious ways, and all will be made clear when you get to heaven.

It’s my second biggest beef with religion that this has been preached for centuries to oppressed people, to keep us afraid and silent in the face of injustice. Whatever happened was what God made happen. So if your son is lynched or your landlord discriminates or your baby is in a cage — well, it was God’s will.
