Writing thinly disguised relationship stories became a running joke between my ex-husband and me ... he'd finish every serious conversation with "and you BETTA NOT write about this either" lol. I'd always reply with that Anne Lamott quote: If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should've behaved better.
